Our Beliefs

We believe that everyone has unique gifts to share with the world, that everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. We can all inspire and be inspired. We are here to promote curiosity and personal discovery, and to unite the world through education.

Allfalfa was born of the idea that real life connection through learning is one of the most powerful ways to enrich the spirit, promote culture, and develop community. Therefore ALL of our offerings will be 100% LIVE - at first through video-conference - and in person once we make it through the pandemic together.

Our Pledge

We operate under a "permanent pledge" of 10% of our profits to education and conservation initiatives around the world. We do our best to remain aloof from political alliances or creeds.

We're Family

Allfalfa was created by family - Brad, Callie, and Jared Walsh - who started the company in 2019 with the vision of delivering joy to the curious, always with an eye to the humanistic aims of education. The story of Allfalfa is really the story of three convergent paths, each adding to the vision of the company in their unique way.

The Beginning

Jared always had a curious mind. As the oldest brother of four boys, he was constantly teaching, but also spent his time mastering anything that came across his path and branching out exponentially in other directions. First it was sports and anything outdoors, then creative writing and painting, then cars, sailboats, skiing and roller blading. There was little Jared didn’t know at least something about. His curiosity led him to study literature and world history. It was at college in Philly where he expanded his love of teaching, helping inner city kids in after school programs. After school, he went on to immerse himself in the Costa Rican rainforest, performing research for a world renowned biologist, and then onto law school at Stanford. Jared’s thirst for knowledge has never ceased. It is his most admirable quality, and one that drives him to learn, read, and explore simply for the sake of it. It is this quality that drives Allfalfa.

Jared’s younger brother, Brad, graduated from school, packed up his old car, and ventured out West. He aimed to not only find his version of peace, he wanted to share his experience of nature with those who did not have the opportunity to see the stars every night without the polluting lights of the city. He joined a series of wilderness education non-profits, dedicated to teaching children from inner cities how to understand the forest, work together as teams, and survive in the wilderness. Through teaching he learned how to lead, and how to be brave. He acquired a thirst for adventure and mastery that led him to rock climbing, kayaking, mountaineering, and eventually rugby – his favorite of risky pursuits. Brad has never shied away from trying something new. It is this quality that drives Allfalfa.

Callie and Brad Walsh were married in Jackson Hole, and it is really through Callie that the story of Allfalfa took shape. Years back she heard a podcast on This American Life about a girl named Zora, who through sheer will and determination decided as a little girl that she would be part of the CIA. This girl made a list of skills she would need to join: star throwing, karate, several languages, evasive driving, bomb defusing, etc. One by one she actually mastered these skills. A cool story to some, but an inspiration to Callie. She loved Zora’s passion for learning, for becoming her very own version of a super hero. The story of Zora reminded Callie of her childhood, where she spent untold hours outdoors, pretending to live off the land with her sisters and neighbors, and believing anything was possible. It also reminded her that she had been watching countless pre-recorded videos to learn guitar and how to speak Spanish, but had not been progressing at either. She craved something that would fulfill the need for knowledge and growth and get people trying new things, and exploring their inner Zora. Callie constantly strives to grow, to share, and to connect with others in meaningful ways. It is these qualities that drive Allfalfa.
